The Royal Maritime Hotel
If you are looking for a venue with a special character for your next event, then the Royal Maritime Hotel, is an ideal choice for you. A unique venue steeped in history and naval tradition, this thriving hotel and conference facility was once the 'Home Club' of British Sailors as far back as 1850. Today, it is a major venue in the heart of Portsmouth welcoming an array of conferences, board meetings, gala dinners and exhibitions.
The largest room, The Trafalgar Ballroom, has a beautiful overhanging balcony, and can accommodate up to 400 guests for a reception or 290 for a banquet. There is also another smaller banquet room, Nelson Lounge, which can host up to 100 guests alongside smaller rooms including the Hood which is ideal for training seminars and board meetings (up to 30) and the Quarterdeck which is perfect for small group meetings or private dinners for up to 16.
The Royal Maritime hotel's history and strong naval links are captured in the naval artefacts and memorabilia on display in the public areas. The mezzanine above the reception is home to model ships and ships' plaques. Take a look at the guest book that records the signatures of a number of Royal visitors including Queen Victoria and King Charles III, who is currently patron.
With 90 en-suite bedrooms, a swimming pool, sauna and spa pool, and the hotel's close proximity to some of Portsmouth's top attractions including Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Spinnaker Tower and Gunwharf Quays, the hotel is also a great option for delegate accommodation or an event mixing business and leisure time together.
If you plan meetings, theme parties, conferences and other types of events, the dedicated Royal Maritime Hotel events team would love to hear from you and welcome you for a complimentary site inspection and tour around Portsmouth.
